Dermalogica is a popular skin care product, not only is it claimed to be the number one choice for skin professionals, it is also available in over 45 countries and there are almost 75,000 qualified Dermalogica skin therapists around the world.

There are three main skin care ranges within the Dermalogica family which are ‘skin health‘, ‘AGE smart’ and ‘mediBac clearing’ all of which are trademarked by Dermalogica.

Dermalogica products aim to improve the health of your skin and more importantly the skin care products are free from many ingredient which can irritate peoples skin such as lanolin, artificial colours and SD alcohols.

The Dermalogica skin care ranges are also free from what the industry refers to as ‘fillers’ and the company focuses on using only the essential ingredients to make the best product they can. Dermalogica has won several awards over the years and in 2009 won the Best Beauty Buys Award from InStyle magazine.

Dermalogica Active Moist

This moisturiser is suitable for daily use and aims to prevent the skin from dehydrating. Active Moist is light on the skin and is also oil free, of course it contains no artificial colours or fragrance either. Dermalogica Active moist should be used on slightly damp skin and can be used on both the face and the neck, from our research Dermalogica suggests this product can be mixed and applied with other Dermalogica skin care products, obviously consult your Dermalogica skin care therapist before mixing any products as only a Dermalogica skin therapist should recommend and prescribe products for you.

Dermalogica Barrier Repair

This skin care product is a type of moisturiser, as it is waterless it is quickly absorbed into the skin. Dermalogica Barrier Repair has the consistency of a soft clear gel and can help to repair any skin damage caused by the elements. When we used the product we found you only needed to use a small amount as a little goes a long way and you can use barrier repair twice a day. Dermalogica claims Barrier Repair can help to strengthen the skins lipid barrier, which can be affected by changes in the weather.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

As with all Dermalogica products the Skin Smoothing Cream is free from artificial colours and fragrance and aims to help improve the texture and tone of the skin. The cream is packed with antioxidant vitamins such as vitamins C and E and can help maintain moisture in the skin. Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream should be applied to a slightly damp face and can be used with other products such as a Dermalogica toner but always consult your skin therapist first.

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance

We found this product to be great for dry skin and it also claims to help reduce the signs of premature aging. As the name of the product suggests, Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance is an intense moisturiser, which can help reduce the amount of moisture lost from the skin by improving the skins lipid barrier. This product contains vitamin A as well as antioxident vitamins C and E and can be used twice a day.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

This product is Dermalogica’s answer to a soft exfoliant and the beauty of this product is that it is suitable for all skin conditions. The Daily Microfoliant is a fine powder to which you add a small amount of water rub this mixture together and it creates a creamy paste which you massage over your face and then rinse thoroughly. We found Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant to leave skin feeling soft and fresh

Dermalogica Multi Active Toner

This facial spray, which Dermalogica have renamed a Spritz helps to hydrate skin and leave it feeling refreshed, Dermalogica claims this product is suitable for all skin conditions and helps the skin absorb any moisturisers applied after application. The Multi Active Toner is suitable to spray onto your entire face but obviously close your eyes first!

Dermalogica Precleanse

This product is great for oily skin and helps to cleanse the skins surface from sebum and oil based residue which can build up on the skin. Dermalogica Precleanse can be used to remove make up and other products such as sun cream. This is a pretty intense facial cleanser, it will leave you feeling like you’ve just had a professional facial. The Precleanse should be applied to the face with dry hands and massaged all over although focusing on areas with oil is likely to build up on the skin I.e. the Tzone.

Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser

We’ve not actually had first hand experience with the Dermal Clay Cleanser but it is claimed celebrities such as Victoria Beckham use this particular Dermalogica product and love it. The clay based product helps to refine the skins texture and rid excess oil, which can build up on the skin.

Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser

This is a particularly gentle facial cleanser and can be used in one of two ways either by applying to the face and rinsing off with water or by removing with a cloth. Ultracalming cleanser is suitable for sensitive skin and worked well for us. Sensitive skin can be caused by pretty much anything from hormone imbalance right though to pollution, we‘d recommend discussing this product with a qualified Dermalogica skin therapist if you suffer from sensitive skin and need a gentle cleanser.

Dermalogica Skin Brightening System

Dermalogica recommends using this product for between 8-10 weeks before you‘ll see visible results. The Skin Brightening Systems aims to restore a healthy glow to your skin and is suitable for people with an uneven skin tone or hyper pigmented skin. As always please consult a Dermalogica professional before you use the Dermalogica Skin Brightening System.< /p>

Dermalogica Daily Resurfacer

This products is used to help lessen the signs of aging and help to prevent premature aging by using ingredient such as green tea and Rooibos. Daily Resurfacer will help to maintain the skins moisture by hydrating and acts as a chemical exfoliator without causing any redness. The Daily resurfacer is suitable for most skin conditions but not all so speak to a Dermalogica professional before you start using the product.
